Artist's Comments

And finally.....my first photomanipulation!! :faint: This actually didn't take TOO long...it was approximately 8 hours to finish, and that's not including the hour or two I spent browsing for just the right stock photos. Speaking of, there's a LOT of credit due here:

man –
wings –
graveyard –
wood –
tree –
border –
texture –

Fullview appreciated and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

A lot of inspiration was taken from Jason Arber, the co-founder and Editor-in-Chief of the online art and cuture magazine PixelSurgeon: [link] He's also an art director at Start Creative in London, UK.

Critique is highly encouraged.....I urge you to point out every flaw in this, as it is my first one, and I want to know how to improve! (Sidenote: This picture will look abnormally dark on CRT monitors....sorry, I made this using an LCD.)

Prints MAY be available in the future.

Edit: Disregard the picture make info on the right....it is incorrect. It seems that even after a bajillion layers in photoshop, the computer still recognizes information from the photos that were originally taken. (In this case, I believe it was =defabe-stock's photo that put the info into this, because it was the first picture I used in the layers and I expanded the canvas from there.)

Edit 2: Thanks to ~chymera, =temoc, *Distracted-Chey, and Sean Coghlan for the tips!

Really great...I love the feel of the picture. Very dismal...in a good way. I'm not too crazy about the border but that may just be me. Other than that I really like this.

The coulouring effect is totally great! I can't believe this is your first manipulation.
You have the sense of composition, and the blur effect on the background make your piece more realistic. Very good work Miss

It deserve a :+fav:

Aw, thanks ^_^ I had the help of someone here at college for some post-touches and a small tutorial, but other than that, none of the stock was standard....it was all from here at dA. And thank you so much for the favorite! :D :glomp: May I use this as a print?

Yeah, there's something I did to the border that kind of screwed it up....i doubled it up against a white screening, then tried to color-balance it. I'm not sure if I like it, either ^_~ Thanks for your comment....any and all make me improve! :D
