A Chinese-style sumi-e ink painting on Japanese rice paper. An experiment of sorts...it came out okay.

Oh I love these style paintings. You've carried it off very nicely as well - well done.

I think it came out quite well. I've been trying my hand at Asian style painting but thus far I'm not doing anything spectacular. Of course If I did it more I might improve. I'm still trying to figure out the ink. I like the overall simplicity of it, with just the black-to-white sort of colouring.

I have to say the Japanese sumi-e style is definitely my favorite of all painting styles :D I have a book that teaches me the styles and I'm still learning!

I should have a look around :). My dad got me a book on Chinese techniques while I was in hospital. He thought it would be more interesting than acrylic and that's been my introduction to the Asian styles.
