I knew there was something I forgot to do before I started this: gesso the canvas. *smacks self* Sorry about being able to see the canvas grain; I won't be able to fix that! :cries:

Credit goes to *wb-skinner for the reference photograph, Cold Winter Blue. HIS PHOTOGRAPHS ARE NOT STOCK, SO PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM AS SUCH! *ahem*

Time involved: approximately 12 hours
Media: acrylic and airbrush paints
Tools: canvas paper, a multitude of paintbrushes, paper towels for multiple uses, and a Badger Crescendo airbrush (and an aircan...gawd, I'm still lobbying for a compressor!!)

Original photograph © W.B. Skinner
Painting © 2007 Kayla Mittelman. Please do not steal either of these, or I will personally hunt you down.

Oh my gosh this is great. I love the colors. :D Even though you can see the grain it looks awesome.

It looks awesome. Nice adaptation from the actual painting. It was almost difficult to tell the difference from the way it looks in his journal entry.:D

Awesome job:)
Very nicely done. The rocks are the most appealing part in the piece, in my opinion. The soft reflection of the water is very eye catching for me also.

Silence is the deepest means of human expression...and I remember every moment of it.

My hopes exactly :D The ice was a pain to do, though, but I did my best. Thank you so much for the wonderful comment!
